Hi,

I'm looking for a new printer - I own a graphic design business, and am
regularly priting full-colour & photo documents, as well as text documents,
so I'll need something that works well all around.

Ideally, I want to keep running costs (ink) down to a minimum, so a great
printer with expensive ink wouldn't be an option. I have around £150 to
spend.

Can anyone recommend a decent printer (available to purchase in the UK)?

Thanks
Dan.

I hate replying to my own posts, but I've been looking at the Canon Bubble
Jet i865... any good?
For an all around printer that is good at photos and office documents, the
Canon i865 is very hard to beat. It has a very low ink cost, refill and
third party ink is readily available. As an added plus, an auto-duplexer and
auxilliary paper tray/feeder are available to increase it's usefulness as an
office printer. You can read a good review of it at Tom's Hardware guide and
Photo-i.co.uk

It's also an extremely fast printer. At least twice as fast as any other
inkjet printer. Somthing to consider though, Canon has a multifunction
printer/scanner/copier/fax machine that uses the same print engine. So you
would get more functionality for only slightly higher price and I think that
it is actually less expensive than the i865 if you are considering the
duplexer and extra paper feeder. The unit I would recommend you look at is
the MP730 Photo. Here's the link to Canon's
site:

Hope this helps.

Superb - will most probably be better than my Epson C40UX which seems to
have gone down the pan!

Probably wouldn't need such features as the printer would only really be
used by me.

Superb - got 94% at Photo-i, so must be decent!

I can only find the MP730 for £300, which is a bit much for what I need.
I've got a scanner & fax machine - so I think the i865 will do the job fine.
Hope this helps.

Very much so - cheers.
