Printer problems

I just recently upgraded from WindowsME to WindowsXP,
everything went great until I accessed my document files
and found that I could not print. I have a Dell system
with a HP LaserJet5L printer. Any suggestions as to my
problem(s). All my attempts to date have failed. Note:
I can print a Test page (manually) but nothing else.
Assistance will be appreciated beyond words.

Have you tried removing altogether and getting XP to
detect it and re-install. Also get the latest drive from
the hp website.

I also have a Dell and just upgraded from Win98 to XP and
have an HP Deskjet 940c and can't print either. It worked
fine before but now I can't get it to print a whole page.
I am wondering if XP is having problems with its printer
drivers and in the meantime we all suffer. Were you able
to fix your issue yet? I would love to hear about it if
you did.

Check the BIOS settings for the parallel port
