Heather

I have a problem that recently popped up and I don't know
how to get rid of it.
When the computer is booted up I am receiving an message
that "New Hardware" namely a Lexmark X74-X75 printer has
been found and when I click on the "x" to close it I
receive "Files Needed" "The file LXBBDR5C.DLL" on Lexmark
Injet Drive Installation Disk is needed. Type the Path
where the file is located, and then click OK.
Again, if I click on the "x" to close it I then
receive "A problem occurred during hardware installation.
Your new hardware might not work properly."
The problem is that my printer is working perfectly and I
don't understand why I get these messages or how to stop
them from happening.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Heather,

It sounds like the DLL is missing and you probably need to reinstall the
printer. Check the Lexmark sight first and get the latest version. By
clicking on the x in the upper right, you're canceling the dialog so
even if you are making the changes they aren't being saved.

It seems to be problem with Lexmark Printers I suffer the same dreaded problem and even my local IT shop is at a total loss I have tied removing the printer completely includind disconnecting the port. To no avail. Even the Lexmark site admits a problem exists but the fix is elusive. If any one can help us plesae do

Any ideas? Thanks. * the problem is that windows is looking for a .dll file and the onl
file that matches the file name is a .dl_ file that is included in th
driver package. So unless someone knows how to convert a .dl_ into
.dll I think we are all screwed
