printer problem

hello,
it seems that my pritner is printing out blank pages. when I try to
copy a document It prints out blank pages. I printed out a document in
color and it printed out just fine. I have a hp psc 1315xl all-in-one.
my os is windows xp. please help.

a) Is the black ink cartridge sufficiently full of ink?

b) From which application are you printing?

c) Can you print a test page successfully?

c) test page printed successfully. the test page was printed in color.
did a test prining from notepad, but nothing comes out but a blank
page.I was trying to print in black from notepad. I can print in
color,but not in black.
 
Replace the black cartridge, run a cleaning cycle and see if it cures the
problem.
