I've a problem with printers on my netowrk.

I've enable the scavenging on my DNS server and i've made
reservations for ip adresses on my DHCP Server for
printers.

Each 7 days (scanvenging is set like this) my printer no
not function and i've do make the host dns manually...

After this it's ok.

Is anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance

A Printer is not a good choice for a DYNAMIC address in
most cases anyway. Do the following:

Create a Reservation for the Printer but use a lease period shorter
than the Scavenging.
Have the DHCP registery the clients OR just manually add the records
(since the IP will never change.)

Scavenging set at 7 days (total) is too short for MOST environments.
Set it at 7+7+7 (14-21 days) the defaults unless you have specific and
carefully tested reasons for reducing it.

Exclude the IP addres in DHCP for the printers. Give the printers static IP addresses and create static entries within DNS for the
printers. Make sure that the records do not have a check mark in the option for "Delete this record when it becomes stale". This
will prevent Scavenging from removing the record.

An exclusion is not necessary-- reservations work quite nicely and
are usually much easier than loading special software to configure printers
or using the (cute little) control panels on the print devices.
