Two days ago I used my printer with no problems. The
next day, my printer was no longer listed in "view
installed printers". I have tried everything to
reinstall my printer including system restore. When I
click on "Add a Printer". I get the message "Operation
cannot be completed". I cannot add a printer from
anywhere! Help!

I have not added any new software, hardware, etc. I
simply turned off my computer and when I came back it no
longer would let me print.

How do I get my printer back up and running?

Thanks
Lisa

You could do a Scandisk/Defrag just to start. If not,
reinstall XP Home. It is very easy. Nothing gets changed.
But, you will have to DL the updates from MS. Quite a bit.
Hope you have broadband. I would suggest you copy Win XP
to your Hard Drive. Makes things go faster. And...you do
have the XP home disk...???

I would love an answer to this too.. I am having the exact
same problem. I have a Canon i560, had no problems
installing it and now it is gone and I can't use the print
driver from the CD or the website! When I try to install
from the print driver, it tells me it is not compatible
with Windows XP and won't let me install it.

I just fixed mine- maybe this will work for you.
Hit your start button, go to control panel, go to
Administrative Tools, go to Services, and find your Print
Spooler, make sure it is not disabled ( it should say
started.) If not started, changed from Disabled to
Automatic, apply, then click the Start Button. Once it is
started, it should allow you to add a printer.
I changed nothing, but have found that I had 3 trojan
virus in my system.. it disabled alot of my services.
Hope this works for you.
