My grandmother got 2 new printers, niether of them have worked. The
first printer (Lexmark X85) would print over half of the Windows XP
Printer Test Page and stop printing. Windows would then say it had an
error printing. No further printing could be done until the computer
was rebooted (seems like USB disconnects on its own). She went and got
another printer (hp psc 2100) It does the same thing, except it prints
the whole Printer Test Page, but then it reports to Windows that it is
disconnected, and refuses to print.

I think it is a USB or problem with the m/b.

Any ideas?

Hi Dustin,

I would tend to agree with you, it sounds like the problem is the USB
connection. A place to start:

Simple BIOS flash fixed it. Thanks.
