One of my printers is a Canon i850. I was printing with it just fine
until suddenly the pages started coming out blank. It was acting like
it was printing. Ink was full, so I pulled out the print head and
flush it, assuming it had clogged. I put it back in, and the printer
started blinking twice, which is listed as paper out. I turned it off
and on again, and that problem cleared. I tried to do a clean function
like I always do after cleaning a print head, but it wouldn't do it. I
tried to print again, and it printed blank sheets. I tried to do more
cleaning cycles. No response. The screen that tells what the printer
is doing would say cleaning, and then it would go back to saying
online. I tried turning the printer off and rebooting the computer. No
change. There are currently no error messages. The printer says it is
online, and it acts like it is printing.
I finally switched to my laser printer, but I prefer to use the ink
jet for most things.
Any ideas why it won't attempt a clean cycle?
