Hi,

How do I check my printer port is working as the system dosen't seem to be
able to detect my printer?

Thankss

What printer is it..?
Is there a printer Icon in the printer & Fax window, are you usin
a USB or standard printer connection...

If the printer was working OK then there is a possibility the lead ma
want re-inserting or replacing, it's easily checked on another unit

All these little details should help solve the problem or throw som
light in the right direction, you can appreciate it could be th
printer, a driver problem or incorrect port selected

100% cert you'll get it working or find the problem with the help o
this NG

I just love it. What hardware platform? What type of port? What OS?
You think we are clairvoyant?

What a maroon!

Do you need to install a non-standard port via the printer set-up
program?

USE OEM INKS YOU ****ING RETARD.. SEE WHAT THAT AFTERMARKET SHIT HAS
CAUSED. A LOST PRINTER PORT.
(filling in for measekite)

What OS are you running?

By printer port you mean LPT or USB...
if you are talking about the parallel port, go into the BIOS and make sure
its enabled there, and that you have ECP/EPP on, if its a aincient printer
turn SPP on instead of EPP.

If you are talking about USB, try plugging something else in the same port
to see if its alive.

Offboard may require drivers, or as Walter has mentioned, non-standard
printer port drivers.
in odd occasions (very rarely since around ATX days) this also happens on
onboards, it may be worth a try.
