printer popup re black cartridge

Is it possible to eliminate the popup which says black
cartridge detected... I select 'Ignore' and go on and it
prints just fine.

If the popup come from some application, you will need to ask the vendor of
the application for the solution. If the popup is generated through the
print provider, there is a registry entry to suppress popups

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Providers\RetryPopup

set this to 0 (default on Win2k is 1)

restart the spooler. If the popup goes away, then the call is coming
through the spooler

I have also disabled Enable bidirectional on the Ports tab to get rid of
these.
