Printer not working after upgrade to XP

Hi,
I just upgraded to windows XP and now my printer is not
working. I tried changing the drivers but this doesnot
work. It is properly installed but nothing is getting
sent to the printer, which is directly connected to the
PC. Please help!!
 
Have you tried the troubleshooter in the device manager? On the General tab of the printer properties, if it does not say "This device is working properly", run the troubleshooter.

Yeah i tried running troupble shooter , still doesn't

After upgrading to windows xp my printer takes about 2 minutes to start printing and then it is very slow.
