I have a printer on my windows 2000 machine that I want to
share with other users who have windows 98 machines on a
small network that we have. When I try to share it, it has
an option for additional drivers for windows 98. When I
try to use it it asks for a windows server CD that I do
not have. I have tried everything that I know to get the
drivers off the manufacturers CD but no success. The
printer is a Hp deskjet 712c. Can you help?

Get the Windows CD or install the driver on the W98 systems and point
to the shared printer as the port.

The problem is that unless you give Windows 2k the
additional drivers then it doesn't make the printer
available to others that have Win 98. So I haven't been
able to add the drivers to the w2k machine because it only
installs the drivers for w2k and I can't seem to get the
98 drivers to be available to install.
