Hi all.

I'm trying to install a remote printer (\\SERVER\HP) by creating a local
port.
I go to add printer, local printer and try to create the local port..
when introduced \\SERVER\HP, a problem appears. "Can't add specifed port.
Port already exists" or similar (it's a translation).

The port is not created. I've looked in the printer - ports and it's not
there, and nor even in the windows registry.

Any help is really welcomed.

The printer is attached to a PC.
The problem is that I dont wanna install the printer as a remote
connection, cause this way the printer is only installed for those who
create the connection.
I wanna installed linked to a local port cause this way the printer is
installed for everybody using the computer.

I've been trying lots of possibilities and all has crash. The problem is
that I'm not able to create any local port with any name.

Thanx.

Are you sure there is no folder on the PC called Server named HP....

Try naming the printer something different.... How about HPPrinter.

I have tried with any name... Just creating a port called "alksjlakjdñ"
which is quite impossible to appear on my pc ;) , the error received is
the same.
I'm not able to create any port with any name.

Please... HELP!!!!!
