i am installing a hp deskjet 692C, and it appears to install fine but when i
go to print it either wont print or will just start shooting pages out even
if what im printing is only 1 page it just keeps sending blank pages out.
when it finally does print its nothing like it should be- it will be about 4
lines of symbols, letters etc and thats it...when i do a test page the
beginning of it looks great it prints out the windows xp test page and
congratulations, the next line u cant read and theres nothing after that. i
have already deleted the printer and re-installed it and the same thing
happens. i sent a post earlier re:malicious script because its when im in
the help & support for installing the printer that my norton pop up with a
malicious threat and says the source is helpctr.exe. (dont know if one has
anything to do with the other??) thx for any help u can give me

Try to break your posts into separate sentences and paragraphs, it makes
them easier to read.

Have you gotten the latest updates for your Norton Antivirus and run a scan
of your system? That would be in order.

You might also want to check for any malware on your system, download,
install and run Ad Aware, www.lavasoftusa.com.

Once you've cleaned your system, assuming there is something at the route of
the Norton Popup, if you still have the issue with the printer, check the HP
site for latest XP compatible drivers for your printer:
www.hp.com.

If you still have a problem, then you'll need to contact HP as drivers for
their hardware and all other hardware issues are the responsibility of the
manufacturer.
