Two things are important in installing driver for my HP printer. There
should not be any difference with a Lexmark printer.
1) Software before hardware. Install the driver first; only when prompted
on screen should you connect and power up the printer.
2) All open programmes -- those icons in the Notification Area, and those
listed in Task Manager -- should be closed. The Task Manager should show
nothing but the driver installation programme only.
Installing drivers is tricky, 2 tips:
1) Get rid of all remnants of past failed install if you can.
2) Create a Restore Point before another attempt.
I learned these the hard way.

Hello if anyone can tell me how to figure out why my lexmark printer
wont install I would appriciate help. It loads some of the driver then says
" user canceled Please wait " and then stops installing, and goes back to my
desktop.
