Hi, trying to load an Epson DX6050 on to an XP home comp
getting a class installer error, how do i get round this
i have try'd restore to an eariler date but no luck so far
any ideas???
cheers

The first thing i do when buying a printer is put the CD back in the box and download the latist drivers from epsons website you can even download the software form there.

Did you by anychance plug the printer into the computer before installing the drivers??

Mike, have you gone to Epson Support site. Do you have the appropriate XP
Drivers?
cheers for the reply RB
it's epson who told me about the class installer
they said to look at M/S site , but no luck there, also google dident
come up with anything
class installer will not let two programs load so old has to go
epson told me to do a restore to before the old printer , but my restore
will not go back that far
have try'd altering the REG but still no luck
cheers anyway mike

thanks Bob , yes i had seen that one ,it's the same as i have on disc.
it get near the end of loading then say's error-"class installer has
denied the request to install or upgrade"
Epson say that XP will only allow one device in the REG, but have try'd
to delete all other instances of printer & scanners but without sucess
cheers anyway mike

It certainly would. Doesn't Epson have some "litter clean up" program
for their installs?

Sorry it wouldn't go without a system flush. XP has firewire support
built in.
