printer failing to print!

I just brought a new printer when i took it out of the box and connected everything it worked fine for a couple of days. By the way it is a Lexmark Z25 jetprinter I think my kids are either my nephew deleted some of my files that may have had my computer attached to them, everytime i try to use my printer it keeps telling me my printer is not connected to my computer and it also says make sure my printer connections are secured! I have tried about everything i can think of if there is anyone out there that can help please do! Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!
 
What version of windows do you have?

It may be neccesary to uninstall/reinstall the software.
