Well, I'm still hunting for a printer driver in Windows for my old Diablo

Does anyone know what other printer choices can emulate the Diablo 430, or
where I can find out if there are some?

It is a dot matrix, if so, try Epson FX or IBM proprinter drivers,
either works on most DM printers I have.

Actually, it's a daisy wheel printer :-)

To the original poster, the best bet is probably to install the
Generic/Text Only printer driver from the standard windows printer driver
list and then configure it it for the correct character set and control
code sequences.

Add Printer-->Generic

Once added:

Start-->Setting-->Printers, Right click-->Properties-->Device option-->Add
New Model (give it a name)-->OK-->Fonts-->Enter the code strings for the
various supported functions, (bold and underline only)

You might need to adjust the character translation table on the Device
Options tab to match the daisy wheel you have installed.

Repeat the above for each different wheel you have if required.

I forgot to mention. The manual is vital for doing the above if you want
bold/underline to work.

Another thought just occured to me. Many, many older printers, daisy
wheel, dot matrix and laser printers had Diablo 630 emulation built in. A
user manul for one of those will probably have the control code sequences
you need.

Ah, found a full list on the Brother site :-)
