Printer driver

All of a sudden I can't print and my printer is gone from the list of
printers. I tryh to reinstall with the CD but still won't load the driver. I
get this message: The print spooler service is not running.
Do I need to reinstall Winows, see a computer nerd, buy a new pc?
Help.

I'll try your suggestionjs. It is a Canon S530D

Should be just the first suggestion then. While you're busy with the
printer, you might want to try uninstalling/reinstalling it, (once you have
the spooler started). The most usual cause of the spooler stopping is
corrupted printer drivers.

What message do you receive when you try to start the spooler?

Sorry for the delay. I have been away. I get a message saying the spooler is
off then a message saying it is starting.
But then I still do not get it to work.
