What exactly do you mean by "identify"? If you mean what "version" as
identified by Epson, that may be difficult unless you can get information
from Epson about what dates and version numbers of the files comprising the
various published versions.
If you mean identify the files involved in the driver:
Open Printers and Faxes (Printers on Windows 2000)
click File, Server Properties
select the Drivers tab
select the Epson LQ590 driver from the list
click Properties
That will show you a list of the files. To find the version of each file:
select the file
click Properties
select the Version tab
The value displayed as File version: may or may not be related to the
"driver version number" as it might appear on the manufacturer's web site.
It is completely at the discretion of the driver builder to set the file
version numbers and each manufacturer has a different scheme for this.
Sometimes the manufacturer will put their "driver version number" into the
..inf file for the driver as "DriverVer". If you downloaded the driver, the
..inf file may be in whatever folder the downloaded driver was expanded into.
Or, you may find it in the %systemroot%\inf folder.
