New to this group so please bear with me as you have most likely dealt with
with this subject before. Which printer would you recommend for true b/w
photo printing. I have in mind the HP7960 or the more expensive Epson 2100.
Thank you

I have just purchased the HP 7760 for that very reason.
I Have a Canon S900 and have been very unhappy with it. espescially in its
so called B&W magenta or cyan flavored prints(YucK).
The HP gives me Very good black and white prints right out of the box, even
without using the C6659 b&w catrridge.
Using that cart will make the b&w prints near perfect.
As an added bonus the color prints from the $149.00 HP 7760 are much better
than the $400.00 Canon S900.
Besides the canon printhead is going bad and is only 1 year old and they
want nearly $140.00 CDN for a new one. So my Canon s900 is relegated to the
attic with the other junk.
Can't comment on the Epson 2100 as I have never used one

Thanks Rene,I have since had good reports about the HP 7960 and 7760 re.
b/w
Thanks for reply

I have both an Epson R800 and a Canon i9950. The former has a distinct
cyan/blue cast to its black and white images, whereas the Canon produces the
truest black and white images I've ever seen.
