I brought this up some time ago but no one responded for whatever reason,
perhaps now someone throw some light on this, I hope.

When I run the Print Wizard, virtually all the previews show garbled lines
of colour only, but occasionally you can spot one of the pictures you're
trying to print.

But the contact sheet choice shows all the pix nice and clearly, BUT when
printed the sheet has no pix but all the file names evenly spaced in rows
and columns with a single vertical cental line where each picture should
have been - has the picture been squashed (technical term) into that line, I
wonder?

All pictures are colour jpeg using XP Pro, tonnes of memory, fast cpu, tried
it with more than one printer, when I print contact sheets via other
graphics programmes they work fine.

I would suggest that you begin by running
Disk Cleanup to delete all of your temp and
temporary internet files.

Also it might be worth a try to search the
website of your printer mfg. for current
WinXP compatible drivers.

Maybe the following MSKB articles will offer
some clues:

Thanks for these suggestions, I'll take a look them, but I do not think they
are tackling the problem as I have no other printing problems with either of
my two printers, only with the Print Wizard. In fact I have never managed to
get it to work in the two/three years I have had XP.
