I have a Win2k3 domain and would like to add my printers from a NT4 print
server to active directory.
I think there are two ways to make this happen:
1) Manually add my printers one-by-one within Active Directory
2) Enable my W2k3 box as a print server, run print manager, add my nt4 print
server to print manager then right click each printer and choose list in
directory.
I would like to do case 2 above but I do not want my W2k3 box to actually
process any print server functionality. I just want to do this to get my
printers in AD easier. Is this the right path for this thought then?
Must I re-run the "setup your server" wizard and select print server in
order to run print manager or is there another way?
My future step is to add another box to be the print server - its going to
be a member server and won't run AD but likely will be Win2k3 - will these
printers publish automatically to AD on another box as long as I have the
"list in directory" checked when setting up?
I appreciate any input.
