Hi Folks,

I have generated some reports in an Access database and I would like to send
the beautifully formatted report to another company. But, I have been told
that they don't use Assess and I will have to publish it in Excel. Now,
Excel is a great product but I have had zero luck in getting the reports to
look anything like what I have in Access.

So, is there any way for me to generate a report that they can open? I have
looked at the Publish with MS Word and it's better looking than Excel but
still not near as good as Access.

TIA,

Tom

Hi, Tom.

Yes. Save the report in the snapshot format (*.SNP), instead of spreadsheet
format (*.XLS). The users without Access installed on their computers can
download Microsoft's free Snapshot Viewer from the following Web page:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3F-6D74-423D-8274-8B7E6313EDFB&displaylang=en

This utility can be used to view and print reports created in Access 2003,
2002, 2000, and 97.

HTH.

Good idea. I'll give that a try.

Oops, well, I didn't have much luck with that. Could you please give me a
clue how to print an Access report to a .pdf file. It's been a long night.

Thanks,

Tom

You need a PDF creation tool installed. Most work like printer drivers. You
"print" your Access report choosing the pseudo printer created by the PDF tool
and it will ask you for a file name and then create the file. Several of these
are free downloads. I use CutePDF which is one of the free ones.

That explains why I could not find a way to do it in Access. I wondered
about that when Mark told me to do it. He's probably had one installed for
so long that he assumed I did too. I do appreciate the help from all you
guys.

Thanks Rick.

Ok, got CutePDF and it's awesome. It makes my Access reports (and anything
else I need to print) available to anyone.

Thanks,

Tom
