Every time I start my Win XP Pro SP2 box (it's a client on a SBS2003
Lan), a Print to File pop-up window appears inviting me to enter the
Output File Name.

I can't get it to go away (re-appears after a few seconds no matter what
I do) and I can't find out what is creating it (I haven't used print to
file in months, if not years). Task Manager just tells me it is
spoolsv.exe and if I end the process, it just re-appears after a few
seconds.

Any ideas how I can find out what to kill to make it disappear for good?

Many thanks for any help.

Tom,

You probably have a printer installed which is set to print to file,
open your printers folder, right click in the background and select
server settings. If you look in the ports tab at the FILE: port you
can see which printers are set to it.

Many thanks - that fixed it.

I had a printer called "Text" which had several pending documents
labelled "Remote Desktop Redirected Print". Not sure how they got there
but I've cleared it all out and the pop-up window has gone.

I appreciate the help.
