My computer locked while printing several docs from a
website. With control/alt/delete, I ended task. This
removed all my printers. The only file showing is "add
printer." Upon trying to load my printer software, I get
the message that the print subsystem is missing...Any help
would be appreciate.

Hey Jimmy,
It looks like the "lock-up" that you experienced resulted in your spooler
service crashing.
Start it again by typing in "net start spooler" at the Run box.
This will make your printers show up again.

If you are using a Windows NT 4.0 you must replace the
winprint.dll file located in c:\winnt\system32
\spool\prtprocs\w32x86.
