Print Spooler

I do not have a print spooler listed in Services. Is that causing my problems with not being able to install a printer?
 
I am trying to install an Epson 785EPX. It used to work until my system became corrupted and I had to reload XP. I do not have a Print Spooler listed in the Services any longer. I am assuming that is my problem. I am trying to find someone who can tell me how to add it as a service. Thanks for asking.
