I have and have had 4 printers connected through a usb port expander
onto one usb port on my hp 9005 laptop. These printers all worked
well on this computer but fitfully on other computers in this home network.
Recently I added network magic to this network in an effort to make all of
the computers able to print to this central location.
That didn't help because after doing this I couldn't print at all and I
reloaded the
drivers from the internet which seemed like the only thing I could do at the
time. The drivers appeared to load but I still could not print. And I
realized that printers
didn't appear at all on the start/printers and fax screen, it was blank.
Now i began to get error messages when I tried to print to the effect that I
was informed that no print spooler was on my computer. Which I assume meant
that the driver was corrupted. No amount af rebooting resored the system. I
contacted Hewlett Packard and they said that this was beyond the scope of
their repair capability but they went ahead and billed me for that fact.
In summary I would like to be able to print via usb to my four printers and
the stated reason for this inability is lack of a printer spooler.
What is and how do I replace my print spooler if that is what is wrong with
my system.
I can also be reached at (e-mail address removed)
