I have a Win. 2k Print Server setup and has been setup
for over a year that works well. Recently, I installed
some new Ricoh printers and now the print spooler has
been randomly stopping making all users unable to print.
I simply restart the service and everything is OK.
However, I would like to get it running the way it was
before.

Could someone please give me some information regarding
this issue.

Thanks.

Since this did not start until you installed the Ricoh printer drivers we can assume it is either this driver or more likely a
custom port monitor installed by this driver. Due to this I would suggest checking HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control
\Print\Monitor to see if the Ricoh driver did add a custom port monitor. If it did I would export a copy of that sub-key and
then remove the sub-key. Stop and restart the Print Spooler service so the change takes affect and then see what
happens.

When the Print Spooler service stops it should add an entry to the Dr Watson log and generate a User dump file, assuming
Dr Watson is still the system's default debugger and it is setup to generate the User dump file. So, if the above does not
resolve it then these files can be used to determine what caused the service to stop.

Here is what was under that directory:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print
\Monitors\RICOH Language Monitor2]
"EOJTimeout"=dword:0000ea60
"Driver"="rc4mon.dll"
"TeeTargetPath"="C:\\WINNT\\TEMP\\"
"CurrentFileCount"=dword:00000000
"MaxFileCount"=dword:00000000
"JobLogFile"=""

Is this what I should export?

Yes, you would want to export a copy of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print
\Monitors\RICOH Language Monitor2] as a backup and then remove the sub-key RICOH Language Monitor2. Then stop
and restart the Print Spooler service for the change to take affect.
