To resolve the problem, delete the printer, remove the printer entries from
the registry, and then re-create the printer:
1.. On the computer that is running Windows 95/Windows 98, click Start,
point to Settings, and then click Printers. Click the printer with which the
issue is occurring, and then click Delete on the File menu. Confirm the
deletion by clicking Yes.
2.. On the Windows NT-based computer, click Start, point to Settings, and
then click Printers. Click the printer with which the issue is occurring,
and then click Delete on the File menu. Confirm the deletion by clicking
Yes.
3.. Delete the printer from the following registry location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\CurrentControlSet\control\print\environments\winnt
\Windows NT x86\drivers\version-2
NOTE: If Windows NT is running on a RISC processor, the location of the
printer is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\CurrentControlSet\control\print\environments\winnt
\Windows NT Alpha_AXP\drivers\version-2
4.. On the Windows NT-based computer, delete the printer drivers located
in the Winnt\System32\Spool\Drivers\W32x86\2 folder.
5.. Reinstall the printer in Windows NT printer by using the
Microsoft-supplied or HP-supplied supplied drivers.
6.. Re-create the printer on the computer running Windows Me/98/95.
