Everything was working just fine and then one day my
printer will not print anything due to the "Spooler
Subsystem Application" isn't running and when I've tried
to restart it, won't START!(HELP)

I encountered the same problem as Richard. I was fine
all weekend. Booted up this morning and began receiving
the message. Check for Printers in Control Panel and
they were gone. Found the article that you reference
below. Followed instructions, but still having the same
problem!

I am not running XP SP1. Would installing the SP also
correct this problem? Other suggestions? Thanks...

When printers disappear, but no other message appear, it's usually because
the spooler service has stopped.

From the command prompt, type net start spooler... (and then hit enter)

They should now return. If not and another error message appears, repost
with the text of the error message.

Spooler started successfully after using the command
prompt. However, printers still not appearing and still
receiving the "Operation Could not be completed" message
when trying to add a printer. I don't think that this is
the solution at this point, since I've already completed
the registry update procedure recommended by Microsoft to
correct the "Spooler Subsystem App..." and "Operation
Could not be Completed" message.

Any other suggestions?

Hope you didn't forget about me :) Any thoughts on my
latest post on this subject?

Thanks!

Try running a System File Check.....

Start, Run (type)

sfc /scannow

(note the space between the c and the /)

Afterwards, reboot. If any of the system files have been corrupted, it will
replace them with corrected versions.

It worked! Once I ran the utility and rebooted the
machine, I was able to reinstall my printer drivers, and
all is back.

I have not heard of this utility before, but I'll never
forget it now.

Thanks for your help!
