Print spooler problem

Hello,

I am using an HP USB Laserjet 1000. Every so often, I loose the printer
connection.

If I go into SERVICES, then stop/start the PRINT SPOOLER service, the
printer starts printing again.

Has anyone ever had an issue with the PRINT SPOOLER service ?

Print Spooler crashes are nearly always caused by corrupted printer drivers.
Uninstall and reinstall the printer.... same procedure as for XP:

This has already been done and has not fixed the problem.

This problem was there with Windows 2000. I upgraded the PC to Windows XP
with brand new drivers, with the same result.
