hi
i have setup a laserjet 1200 with an HP print server (170
series), installed the printer using local printer and
ocnfigured a tcp/ip port.
installed the driver and i can print to the printer but
there are 2 strange issues
1) after i print the job and i double click on hte
printer i can see the job, and once it has printed the
status changes to printed and it stays in the queue.I can
highlight the job and delete it but it should disappear
by itself, no? that is what it does on every other
printer i have configured for network printing.
2) if i print 1 page and i double click on the printer
the print spooler actually says it is printing 6/6 pages
and not 1/1, for a 40 page print job it should say
printed 40/40 but it displays 141/141.
also if i reboot hte computer it prints all the jobs
again.
i found an KB article which asked to check the security
attributes for hte c:\winnt\system32\spooler\printers\
directory and this is NOT set to read-only, Also the
print job files have the correct archive attribute.
I have also setup this printer on a windows xp laptop and
it has none of the above problems.
has anyone else had this problem before and if so could
you let me know if you have been able to solve this issue.
thanks
rog
