All my printers have gone and when I try to add a printer I get this error
"Operation could not be completed"
I checked the Printer Spooler service and it is not running.
When I try to start it I get this message:
could not start the print spooler service on local computer error 2 etc...

I looked around on internet and didn't find anything relevant on this error.

Thanks for the answer but you didn't read the question.
I tried already to restart the service but then I got the Error 2
It is something more serious.
We have many printers:
HP MFP's
Kyocera
Gestetner
Xerox
All of them on the network. No local printer.
There is also 2 different virtual priters: FaxMaker and PDF maker

I suppose you had/ have a Lexmark or Dell printer

E:\>winerror 1075
1075 ERROR_SERVICE_DEPENDENCY_DELETED <--> No NTSTATUS matched

here's a Microsoft knowledge base article on this

Error message when you try to start the Print Spooler service on a Windows
XP-based computer: "Error 1075"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915168/en-us

Bruce has some suggestion's as well. Go down to the part on Lexmark
printers.

Hi Yaacov,
The print spooler is not working because it is not able to find spoolsv.exe
file in system32 folder.
You can try the following steps:
Right click on start --- Left click on explore ---- Go to i386 folder from C
drive --- search for the file spoolsv --- Copy the file spoolsv and paste in
C:\windows\system32.
Restart the print spooler and it should work fine.
