Print spooler hung on old document

Print spool has a two day old document at the top. I try canceling it.
I try restarting the Print Spooler service. I try rebooting. I try
power cycling the printer etc. NO! NO! NO!

My other documents cannot print due to this.

Windows XP cannot print! It used to work until we tried to print when
the printer was not connected to the USB.

It says "Deleting - Printing" in the Status for the printer but doesn't
do either one!

I fixed it. Cancel document as above. Delete printer (HP PSC-2170).
Reboot. Go to Printers and Faxes and see it says "Deleting" as the
Status for the printer. The printer is printing the documents now.

OK, just finished printing. I'll reinstall the printer. OK. Good. What
a work-around!
