I have the same problem as Michael (see post of 11/29/03) and several other
people. The answer Guru gave him was to go to a command prompt (Start ->
Run -> Cmd) and type "start net spooler." The other alternative was
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
(though it was not spelled out this completely) to start the spooler from
there. Once in the Services window, right-click the spooler program ->
Properties -> Start and Windows re-starts the spooler. The trouble is, that
as soon as any print function is attempted the print spooler error retruns
immediately.
I have also removed MS Office (I use the XP edition) by Control Panel ->
Add/Remove Programs and have restarted Windows 2000 Prof'l to be sure
everything there should be gone from my system.
Still the problem exists after all this. Any working suggestions will be
greatly appreciated. I hear there are none.
