Print spooler and printing

I have noticed that if I have MS AntiSpyware running in
the system tray any print job is greatly delayed in being
sent to the printer. It seems print spooling takes an
unacceptable amount of time before being sent to the
printer. I am running Windows XP SP2 with a Dell
Dimension 3.0GH and 1 Gig of memory and have an HP
Laserjet IV. Does anyone else experience this problem
and if so is there any setting change that might overcome
the problem? Thanks for any suggestions.

What application are you printing from? A good many folks have posted a
time lag issue printing from some WordPerfect versions.

I am also running WordPerfect. Disabling real-time
protection makes the problem go away. However doing that
also defeats part of the purpose of the software. Other
apps as yet don't seem to bother.

I don't have a cure for this--it seems a genuine application conflict. It
has been posted many times here, so I believe Microsoft is aware of it.
