When you share a printer in XP, does the computer that you have the printer
plugged into have to be turned on in order to print from a laptop on a
wireless network?

Byte perhaps you know this. For some reason I can not see my printer. I
have been trying to connect to it from my laptop, but not seeing it. What am
I doing wrong

BOSSBLACK -- Assuming you're talking about "seeing" a printer over some sort of
network, can you "see" anything else? Have you checked your firewall settings? On
both computers? What OS is running on the computer to which the printer is
physically connected? On the laptop? Have you enabled "file and printer sharing"
on the computer to which the printer is physically connected? How have you tried
to "add" the printer to your laptop?

Yes Byte, I shared the printer on my desktop. Both computers are running XP.
I can see the network, when I browse for a printer, but the printer doesn't
show. Is there something I need to do on my desktop
