Hi
I am having trouble setting up the "Print Services For
Macintosh" on our windows 2000 print server, which has SP3
and 60+ other network printers, installed on it.
I have installed the service and created a printer using
AppleTalk but I get problems setting up the printers on
the clients. They can see the printers and connect to
them, and I have had success printing using Mac OS 9 + X
but sometimes you get a printout with a postscript error
printed on the page.
%%[Error: Syntaxerror; OffendingCommand: --nostringval--]%%
%%[Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored]%
%
I have done some searching myself and I have come up with
the following, which I wasn't sure if it was true and if
it was is there a way round it?
"If you Print Services for Macintosh occasionally fails to
work, your Macintosh clients may be sending a Postscript
level-two print job to a PCL print queue.
PCL print queues only accept PostScript level one or PCL
print jobs from Macintosh clients.
Postscript level-two print jobs can be sent to a
PostScript print queue because Windows NT just passes the
job to the printer without altering it. As where a Windows
2000 Print server with Print services for Macintosh users
true image to convert postscript level-one jobs to PCL for
a PCL print queue."
So if there's any help or suggestions you could give me on
this problem it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
