using Windows XP Home Edition - print screen key does
not copy monitor screen. Dell not able to give solution
and Micosoft tech won't take message since OEM supplied
operating system with new computer. Any suggestions as to
possible problem? NVRAM has been cleared. On old windows
95 the "Print Screen" would copy to printer the entire
monitor screen. Have swapped key board and still
problem.

How about pasting into Paint then trying to print it? An extra step
involved, but it works.

As far as I know, the printscreen button only copies the
screen image, you have to paste it into some kind of
application to display it, like Paint or Word. I
downloaded an utility from the internet called PrintKey
2000 and it is great, no pasting and you can capture just
one object from the screen, you don't have to print the
whole page. It also has a greyscale option so you are not
wasting colored ink printing the screen. Hope this helps.
