I have an IBM desktop and a laptop. Both keyboards have
a Print Screen key. The instructions to print a screen
(not a document) say to press ALT + print screen. It
does not work on either computer. IBM says to contact
Microsoft but I cannot reach anyone. What can I do?

It doesn't sent a copy to the printer, it sends a copy to the clipboard.
You then open a graphics program (even Paint will do) and paste that image
into the program.

You then print that image.

Windows only copies your window or screen into the buffer. If you want it to
print directly (instead of using something like PAINT to print from), google the
product PrintKey 2000 or PrintKey Pro and get it.

Greetings --

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard. To view the screen capture, open a graphics program,
such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will paste the contents of
the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open file, and allow you to
view it or save it as a file for later use.

If you will press the Print Screen key and then go to
your word processor program open it and place the cursor
where you want the screen print, printed and press
Control+v you will have a picture of your screen in your
word processor. If you want a picture of the active part
of your screen, do a Alt+Print Screen, open your word
processor and put the cursor where you want the screen
print, printed and do a Control+v. You will have it. If
you don't get it let me know.
