Print row numbers

How do I print row numbers in a report? I would like each row to be numbered
in order 1,2,3... regardless of the sort/query performed.

I have used Autonumber in creating a table, but do not know how to generate
an auto number for each row in a report. If I run a query, the row numbers
will change...maybe it's just a function of autonumbering the query rows.

Add an unbound control to the detail section.
Set it's control source to
=1
Set it's Running Sum property to
Over All.
 
Rick- yes I did a search, but could not find the answer, or didn't see that
it was the answer. Anyhow, thanks for your very enlightening and
supercharged input.
