Print problems with XP

Ken

I changed recently to Windows XP, and immediately
installed my HP OfficeJet Pro 1150C printer. The
colour was far from satisfactory (rubbish in fact), and
after eventually visiting the HP website, I discovered
that I should not have used the installation CD. I
immediately uninstalled the printer, and followed the
instructions provided. Unfortunately, there is no
difference at all in the hellish quality of colour. It
was printing fine with the previous package (98SE), but
now there is no accuracy with the colour at all. Black
prints are fine. I changed the colour cartridge just
in case, but there is no difference. Has anyone out
there got any ideas as to how I should pursue the matter,
since I really do need accurate colour reproduction.
Thanks. Ken.

Also, if you go to the HP web site they have removal
tools that will get rid of the drivers and the registry
entries relating to the printer so you get a fresh install

I am having a similar problem with my 1150c except that
it's my scanner that I'm having problems with. It was
working fine for quite some time under XP Pro, but now my
scans are quite dark. I first thought it was a hardware
problem, but have hooked it up to a machine running
Windows 98 and it scans perfectly. I have made sure all
old drivers were gone and reinstalled, but no change. Is
it possible that one of the XP updates changed something?

Thanks,

Tom
