print prob..

at work today i got a call from a user who said that 50%
of the time, his printer doesnt print. Sometimes it works,
and other times it doesnt. We use Win 2000 and each time
he tries to print, the print icon on the taskbar blinks
than goes away and nothing prints.....no error messages or
anything. we checked all connections and everything was
ok. Im just lost as to why it prints sometimes and othe
times it doesnt...any suggestions???

I've seen this with some poorly written drivers that try to write files in
places that user does not have NTFS permissions to. (See if it works under
an account with local admin.) Especially printers designed for "home use"
when they get dumped into a network environment with stricter user security.

That's the best guess I can take with the information provided...
