I made a power point presentation in the landscape view setting, however
when I view it in "Print Preview" my page is viewed as a Portrate view.
I have gone through the page setup & switched to Landscape, but still when I
view it , it showes it as being a Protraite view & cuts off the sides of my
presintation.

Even my printer has been set up for Landscape .
Any ideas...please

If your printer has been setup as landscape, then the printer setup might be
overiding the powerpoint setup.
Put your printer driver back to default setup. and just use the Power point
options.

I have seen some printers that are setup with the printer driver to always
print a certain way, overide the setup options for the application.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

This is known problem with a variety of printer drivers.

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=302977

Microsofts recommendation is to obtain a certified printer driver
(http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/) and, if that doesn't solve the problem,
create a 2nd printer driver instance which is, by default, set to Landscape
and use that driver instance to print slides from PowerPoint instead of
your current instance of your default printer driver (NOTE: This might not
be possible with networked printers).

1) In the "Printers and Faxes" control panel use the "Add a printer" link
to add your printer <a 2nd time> to your system. (you will end up with two
separate instances of the driver listed in the Printers and Faxes window).
2) Select the 2nd instance of the driver and rename it something like
"Default printer for PowerPoint Slides (Landscape)"
3) Change the properties (printing preferences) of this printer driver
instance so that it's default page orientation in landscape, instead of
portrait.

Now, whenever you print slides (landscape) from PowerPoint, choose this
printer driver instance instead of your default printer driver instance
(portrait).

If John or Christina's suggestions don't work out, you could also try printing
to PDF using one of the various free solutions if you don't have a full copy of
Acrobat or the like.

Then open the resulting PDF in Acrobat Reader and print from there.
Choose the Print As Image option if you run into printing problems from the
PDF.
