I don't have a print preview option on my 2000 version of
powerpoint...nor do I have the option to view page
breaks...is there something I can download to add this to
my version?

You have it, but it is not loaded on your tool bar automatically. Right click on
your Tool Bar | Customise | Edit | scroll down until you see the Print Preview
Icon, select and drag to your toolbar.

PPT 2000 doesn't have a print preview.

What do you mean, though, by viewing page breaks? Each slide represents a
break, whether that's a particular page, or whether it's 2 slides/page.

Oh, or are you trying to view Outline breaks? If so, try using File/Send to
Word.

No, afraid not.

You don't need anything fancy to view page breaks. Each slide or notes
page prints on an individual page. PowerPoint doesn't do variable page
breaks the way a word processor does.

Choose View, B/W to get an idea of how the presentation will look when
printed to a b/w printer.

Choose Fit To Page in the print dialog box and the PPT slide will fill
the printed page to the extent possible (that is, it can't print
outside the printer's printable area, so there'll generally be some
margin, and if the printer page isn't proportional to the PPT page, PPT
will simply print the slide as large as it can w/o cropping anything
off.)

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Eric,

The Print Preview feature was not added to PowerPoint until PowerPoint 2002.
