Print preview slow

Is there anything I can do that will speed up Word's print preview. What I
mean is, the first time I click Print Preview it takes quite awhile to show
up. While this is happening the button bars al almost, but not quite, gone.
Once it renders the page once print preview is fast. Possibly related; Shut
down of Word can take about the same amount of time.

Conversely Word loads quite quickly.

This possibly indicates a partially corrupt printer driver or an out of date
graphics driver. Check on the respective Internet support sites for the
latest drivers for your devices and install new versions.

I had not thought of the graphics driver. Printer driver is up to date. Also
what is your opinion regarding the font file? Could anything there have a
bearing on things? I was thinking of rebuilding it to see if it made any
difference.

It is unusual for a font to be corrupted, but not impossible. There would be
no harm in removing it and then reinstalling it. Just make sure it isn't a
Windows System font though - such as Tahoma. Removing a Windows System font
may result in empty dialogs making it either extremely difficult or
impossible to restore.
