Ok dumb question but just what type of printer do you have to use to print
on the white top layer on some CD'S ? Are these something that are very
expensive? Thanks Gimpy

I use the epson r200 to print on cd/dvds. I have printed 100s of dvds
with it.We have compared the r200 with the canons and the r200 prints
the best looking prints.I use the Verbatim inkjet white hub printable
disks.I buy them from Meritline.com 100 for $33.99 free shipping.
I have used this printer for over 2 years with no clogs or any problems
at all.I buy my carts on ebay. The last time I bought some for $ 37.00
inc. shipping.Hopes this info helps. Also the epson software is easy to use.

Thats funny, the Epson R200 has a problem with the feeding of the CD
tray in that model. They have replaced many printers under warranty for
that reason. My friend (R300) has had 3 replacements. Other than that
he likes it. He uses only Epson ink.

Thanks John , I'll look at that one Gimpy

Epson R-260 Refurbished from epson about $65 US Office Depot for $90US
Also there is a cannon I think but do not know the number
Uses lots of expensive ink. epson has double chipped {?}the new model
so you cannot use compatible carts... More ways to make me not buy..
There are several epsons 200 etc.
Works great with the software which comes with it but like to look at
others. freeware

Don't be put off by the Epson "double chipping" of newer models. I have
an R265 (R260 in the USA) which is double chipped and 3rd party carts
are now readily available for it :-)

It also does a great job of printing on CD/DVD.

Canon (one N) Pixma with the CLI8. US models come with CD printing disabled
and without the CD tray. You can probably obtain a tray and enable that
feature.
