Hi,

Using the print-screen key, I would like to be able to print the Windows XP
System Setup (BIOS/CMOS) settings, which, as you know, consists of many
screens, what with all of the menus and links.

I understand that PrtScrn causes the image to go to the Clipboard, the image
of which can then be copied to Paint, say. But that would require a reboot
to XP for each screen that was copied in order to access Paint , and more
importantly, the reboot would cause the clipboard contents to be lost.

Am I correct in my understanding, and if so, is there some other way to do
it?

I am using Win XP-SP2, a 102/104 Gateway keyboard and an Epson CX4800
multiprinter.

I would appreciate any help you may provide.

Thanks, August.

You can't print the BIOS screens with XP. Maybe you can find special third party software to do it, but instead of spending all the time to research it, download it, test it, why not just write 'em down. Takes a few minutes.

Not sure what you want here.

Are you in the BIOS setup screens (the ones you
get when you press "DEL" after powering up)?

Some older printers WILL print these just by
using the PrtSc key. It does something totally
different when you use it outside Windows. My
old Canon BJC printer will print them.

Try it.

If it doesn't work, go find that old dot-matrix
printer gathering dust in your garage. It'll print
them.

it should print just fine; look at the printer lights carefully, when you
hit prntscrn you should see a change; it is possible that the page got
sent to the printer but didn't "eject", you'll need to hit a key on the
printer to make it eject each page (most likely offline then form feed;
modern printer often just have a GO or CONTINUE key).
