Several times today we had to cancel a print job going to a network
printer (on a printserver.)
When I cancelled the print job at the workstation it just sits there
with "cancel pending" or someithg like that but the job never cancels
and the user cannot print to that printer until we restart the
computer (which ALWAYS fixes the problem.)
What causes this and how can I fix this WITHOUT having to restart a
computer? (it seems silly that you would have to restart a computer
just to cancel a print job.)
These are all Windows 2000 client PC's. The printer is a HP laserjet
printer (and I have cleared ALL print jobs using admin rights, turned
off the printserver, turned off the printer, etc. Seems like this is a
local print system error.)
